Shroud: the number of bookings grows   versione testuale
Among the pilgrims a group of 50 Muslim and the Patriarch of the Armenian Catholic Church








During the second week of the exhibition of the Holy Shroud, since Saturday 17th April till Friday 23rd April, 242,611 pilgrims who had booked their visit saw the Shroud. Other 76,000 people entered the Dome from the central door. Friday has been the busiest day of the week with 44,531 pilgrims. In total, since the opening day till Friday,  450,680 people with reservation have seen the relic. To them, we have to add about 144,000 believers without reservation.
 
The number of bookings continues growing. Till now there are 1,727,996 of them, 121,827 coming from outside Italy (7.05% of the total).
 
Yesterday morning a group of 50 Muslim pilgrims of the Association “Musulmani per il dialogo” worshipped the Shroud. Also the Patriarch of the Armenian Catholic Church with a group of believers from Lebanon and Syria arrived in Turin for the same reason. They have been welcomed in the city by the local association Amici delle Chiese d’Oriente, that is responsible for many different solidarity project in areas like Lithuania, Armenia, Romania and Ukraine.
