Visits: Pilgrims from Egypt and Russia   versione testuale
Success for the first Wednesday dedicated to disabled people.

Turin, 14th April 2010 – Chaldean Christians from Egypt, Muscovite Orthodox and consular delegations from 52 countries have visited the Holy Shroud during the fifth day of the Exhibition. Also children from many local schools and some hundred students from Sicily have entered the Cathedral to worship the relic.

Every Wednesday is dedicated to disabled and sick people’s pilgrimages. Today, from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., there have been about a thousand of them. Thanks to a plastic model realized for 2000’s exhibition, blind people can “hear” the Holy Shroud. The plastic is an exact reproduction of the front side of the Holy Shroud hung on an aluminum stand.

About 36,000 pilgrims are supposed to arrive tomorrow. 500 of them come from France and 300 from Poland. In the afternoon, also some professors from the Faculty of Theology of Turin are expected.
