The Shroud Exhibition Committee was officially formed on november 18, 2008.
The act was signed by cardinal Severino Poletto, Torino archbishop and papal custodian of the Shroud, Sergio Chiamparino, the mayor of Torino and Antonio Saitta, the president of the Province, in the presence of the notary Benvenuto Gamba.
The archdiocese of Torino, the Municipality and Province of Torino and the Piedmont Region are members of the committee.
Professor Fiorenzo Alfieri is the President of the committee and the City of Torino councilor for cultural resources.
Each of the four committee authorities is represented by three members entitled to vote: two councilors and a technical manager for each authority, two priests and an advisor for the diocese of Torino.
Engineer Maurizio Baradello is the director.
