Transfiguration
The word "metamorphosis" in Greek
indicates a being that appears in a shape other
than his own. The event of Jesus` transfiguration
is reported by the Gospels. It happens on mount
Tabor, a place where other divine manifestations
had taken place before (e.g., Ex.19; 1Kings19)
After His resurrection Jesus` body appears as
pure light (Daniel 12,3; 1Corinthians 15, 40) and
He is wearing a white tunic (Ap. 3:4-5). In this
context the story of transfiguration can be
considered as an anticipation of the Rising from
the dead (2Peter 1:16-18).
