women

We see that some women are beside Jesus in the hardest moment of his life. There are not many of them but they are faithful, even more faithful than the disciples, who had run away for fear. John is an eye witness and the only male-apostle who was there, he tells us about Mary, Jesus’mother, about Mary’s sister, about Mary the wife of Cleophas and Mary Magdalene (19,25). Mary Magdalene is the first person to whom Jesus, after His resurrection, will appear and tell His first words; they are words of consolation “Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou?” (20,15).
