mission
The Gospels (that were written after all the events of Jesus life had been accomplished) often talk about the Passion and Death of the Lord, while they tell us about His mission. They recognize those as the main points of His existence. For this reason, they become major issues in every moment of the Gospel narration. Even in the first phase of Jesus life, when He was brought to the Temple by Mary and Joseph, old Simeon and prophet Annah talk about the premonitions that will be accomplished during the Passion.
