Contemplation
Contemplation means to watch the world and man with
the eyes of prayer. It means to consider the facts
narrated in the Scriptures as if they were experiences
that everybody could have today. A contemplative look is
when we faithfully keep our eyes on Jesus. "I look
at him and He looks at me", this is how the peasant
of Ars described his relationship with God to his saint
priest.
Contemplation is therefore the end of every meditative
journey. It is the place where we can rest in silence
with God. Every man needs contemplation, it fulfills the
deep need to seize the unity of the divine and the human.

Spiritual exercise to pray the
Word of God
Stand before
the Lord (Genesis 18:22)
In these verses it is described how deeply Abraham meets
God. Every event in Abraham`s life is indeed connected to
God. He commits his prayers and demands to the Lord.
Abraham is sure that he will be heard. If a man is able
to "Stand before the Lord", and talk to Him, he
will easily became aware that God loves and listens to
his children.
Looking for
his face (Chronicles 16:1)
David invites us to praise the Lord: " Seek the Lord
and his strength, seek his face continually". The
object of this contemplation is not an abstract idea but
a Person, someone who every man relies on for his wishes,
hopes and joys. This is the reason why we can use the
word "meet" God.
Keep it in
your heart (Luke 2:51)
Contemplation is keeping the gift of the Word deep in
your heart. Mary taught us to remember every single
meeting we had with God.
The light of
God (Isaiah 60:19)
"God, shall be thine everlasting light."
In contemplation we enjoy the eternal light, we do not
fear the dark because we reach the horizon of the
brightness of God.
Jesus teaches us to see everything in the light of His
truth and compassion toward man.
